Link a Quiz to a Grades Category

The process for linking a quiz to a Grades category is similar to when it is linked to an item. Linking to a category from the Quizzes area requires that the category already exists in the Manage Grades tab of Grades.

Instructions

1. Go to the Quizzes tool and then click on the the chevron (drop-down arrow) next to a quiz. Select Edit.

Open

2. In Quiz editor select the Not in Grade Book option to review the options.

3. Select Edit or Link to Existing, to edit the quiz grade book item or to link to an existing grade book item.

   1. Edits to linked grade book items can be done via the Grades tool. CPI suggests completing edits there.

   2. Please note “Link to Existing grade item” does not refer to a category. Linking to grade book categories is done via the Add or Edit options.

4. Select Add to Grade Book, to create a new grade book item. The CPI recommends that the grade item should have the same name as the quiz, or something very similar. Instructors can enter information about the grade item at this point, or can edit it later. Click Ok to close the window.
