Awards

Awards is a tool in Brightspace that instructors can use to incentivize/gamify aspects of their course or site. With the use of https://cpibrock.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/BLEDOCU/pages/870514691, students can be automatically awarded badges and certificates based on performance, interactivity, and more.

The Awards tool is accessible from a course navbar > Course Tools > Awards.

Badges and Certificates

There are two different types of awards that can be given to students:

Badges

Badges are digital markers that represent accomplishment of a task/activity throughout a course or program. They are connected to a student’s profile.

Certificates

Certificates are similar to badges, but also include a PDF that users can print. They are typically used as an official statement for a milestone completed, such as completion of training or finishing a program.
