Course Survey Tool in Brightspace

The Course Survey tool appears in the default navigation bar of a Brightspace course site and is intended to give instructors, TAs, and students a consistent path towards Student Course Experience Surveys. The tool also provides a summary of a program’s specific Student Course Experience Survey practices and known contacts.

Notifications

Students continue to receive email notifications and a pop-up message on the Brightspace homepage when they have surveys to complete. As those messages are dynamic, the path of “Access the Brightspace course, Choose More Tools, Course Surveys and follow the link” is a static path students can be instructed to follow, along with guiding students to direct access to the Blue survey tool.

Students have several entry points to the survey system, including email notifications.

What information does this tool use about my program?

The tool uses the common information CPI maintains about program’s Student Course Experience Surveys practices. Notably, it does not reflect instructor’s decisions to opt-out of an online survey.

Can I remove the tool from my course?

An instructor can edit their default course navbar to exclude the Course Surveys tool link.
