Create and record a video in YuJa

YuJa offers the ability to record videos via a user’s browser or through a desktop application. Instructors can also record directly from within Insert Stuff on Brightspace.

Record videos via the Insert Stuff tool

1. Open a text-editor in Brightspace.

2. Select Insert Stuff → YuJa Media Chooser.

3. Just below the Media Chooser title, click the Record Content tab on the right.

4. Users will be given the option to either record via their Windows PC/Mac, or the Browser Capture Studio. Select the drop-down arrow and choose Browser Capture Studio, Create a Title, then click Start.

5. Tailor the various Browser Capture Options:

   1. Choose whether the Capture Studio will be recording the camera, the computer screen (window or screen), or both.

   2. Select which microphone the Capture Studio will use.

   3. Select which camera the Capture Studio will use.

6. Click Start Recording when ready to record.

7. Once finished, users will be able to upload the recording to their YuJa Media Library, or discard the recording.

Record videos via the YuJa website

1. Visit your YuJa account via Course Tools on the navbar in your Brightspace site.

2. At the top of the YuJa library, click Create Recording.

   Create Recording is found in the centre at the top of the Media Library, next to Manage Media

    

3. Users will be given the option to either record via their Windows PC/Mac, or the Browser Capture Studio. Select the drop-down arrow and choose Browser Capture Studio, Create a Title, then click Start.
   
   

    

4. A pop-up should appear in the new tab, asking for permission to use the microphone and camera. Select Allow.

5. Tailor the various Browser Capture Options:

   1. Choose whether the Capture Studio will be recording the camera, the computer screen (window or screen), or both.

   2. Select which microphone the Capture Studio will use.

   3. Select which camera the Capture Studio will use.

6. Click Start Recording when ready to record.

7. Once finished, users will be able to upload the recording to their YuJa Media Library, or discard the recording.

Record videos via the desktop application

1. Visit your YuJa account via Course Tools on the navbar in your Brightspace site.

2. At the top of the YuJa library, click Create Recording.

    

3. Users will be given the option to either record via their Windows PC/Mac, or the Browser Capture Studio. Select Record from your Windows PC or Mac, then select the Download link at the bottom of the window.
   
   

4. Upon downloading the application, users can add it to their desktop.

5. Select Brock University Single-Sign-On as the method of signing in, then select Continue.

6. Users can choose camera, microphone, a screen to share, etc. Then select Play to begin recording.
