Mobile app (Pulse)

Brightspace offers a mobile application called Pulse, this app can be downloaded onto any iOS or Android device, making it easier to receive notifications for your courses on the go.



Already have the Pulse app?

If you have been using the Brightspace Pulse app with a different institution, you can add your Brock account to the existing application by clicking on the logo in the top left hand corner of your main Pulse homepage and selecting Add Account, then follow the steps below starting at Step 3.

iOS Users

You can download the Pulse app from the Apple App Store on your iPhone or iPad following these instructions.

1. In the App Store search for Brightspace Pulse → select Get beside the Brightspace Pulse app.

2. Click to Open the Brightspace Pulse app → click on Get Started to log into Brightspace

3. Follow the steps to log into Brightspace through Pulse. Search for Brock University in the Who provides your learning? box → click on the Brock brightspace.brocku.ca item → follow the prompts to log into Brightspace through Brock’s sign on system by entering your BrockU email and password.

4. Once logged in, explore the three main tabs - Courses, Upcoming, and Notifications

  • Courses: The courses tab provides a link to the Brock Homepage at the top, followed by a scrollable list of all the courses you have access to. If you click on one of the courses you will be taken to the course Content and Grades tab, where you can access course materials and check on your grades in the course so far.

  • Upcoming: The upcoming tab shows a calendar with a list of upcoming events across all courses you are a member of.

  • Notifications: The notifications tab shows a list of notifications across all courses you are a member of, if you click on a notification you can see more information about it, for example, the entire announcement.

Android Users

You can download the Pulse app from the Google Play Store on your tablet or phone following these instructions.

1. In the Google Play Store search for Brightspace Pulse → select Open beside the Brightspace Pulse app.
