Mobile App (Brightspace Pulse)

The Brightspace Pulse App is a companion app provided by Brightspace that allows learners to view course details, key dates, and grades from their phone. This app is NOT supported by Brock University. Some brief FAQs have been addressed below.

How do I get the mobile app?  

The Brightspace Pulse App is available from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store on compatible devices.

What can I do in the mobile app?  

Brightspace Pulse is a mobile app that can help learners stay connected and on track with their courses in Brightspace. It provides one easy view of course calendars, readings, assignments, evaluations, grades, and announcements. The app can help learners make better decisions about how to handle workload, when to submit assignments, and when to prepare for tests. Real-time alerts can let learners know when classes are canceled, rooms are moved, or new/updated course content and grades are made available. The schedule view and weekly visualization provides learners with a quick, at-a-glance view of what is due today, this week, and later in the term across all their courses.

How do I get notifications for course updates (e.g. announcements, new content, upcoming deadlines) sent to my phone?  

To receive notifications and updates to your phone, they must be configured through the Pulse app. Additionally, the app must have permission to deliver notifications. For a detailed guide please see,

Can I subscribe to my Brightspace calendar? 

Yes. To do so online, go to your homepage and click on the drop-down menu for the Calendar Widget, then click Subscribe. Copy and paste the subscription link into the calendar app/manager of your choice.

You are not able to subscribe to calendars from the app. However, you can receive notifications for events and dates from the Pulse app.
