This article outlines how to create a group assignment in the Assignments tool. To make changes to groups or access group settings, do so directly through the Groups Tool. Groups can be made before or after creating the assignment.

Creating a Group Assignment via Assignments Tool
Follow the instructions outlined in the Create an Assignment page to start. Set all the desired variables and restrictions. To transform the assignment from individual to group, follow below.
Click Submission & Completion drop-down.
Select Group Assignment.
Under Group Assignment select the Group Category:
If “section” is chosen a new group will automatically be created in the groups tool. Proceed to the Groups Tool to set groups and add students.
OR select the group category desired for this assignment.
Save and Close.
