Microsoft Forms , is a tool that offers a simple interface for creating basic surveys and evaluations. It is available to all Brock instructors and students through the Microsoft 365 suite of applications , offers a means for users to perform quick surveys or quizzes for classes, projects, etc.Instructors and students can access Microsoft Forms through their OneDrivevia myoffice.brocku.ca.

Microsoft offers their own detailed text and video documentation guides to help users create forms and quizzes. Check out Microsoft’s Create a new form or quiz article to learn more.get started using Forms. They also provide templates and examples. This article seeks to expand upon those and assist with idea and use-case generation.

Use-Cases

Microsoft Forms can be used to facilitate a range of discussion and information gathering. Examples include:

  • Peer evaluation which can be anonymous and decentralized (or the opposite).

  • Voting and polling questions for feedback or decision-making.

  • Fostering engagement by adding interactivity during a lecture (including Forms integration with PowerPoint).

  • Automated start, stop, and continue check-ins with students

  • Surveys with branching questions or skip-logic.
