Creating Instructional Videos

Creating Instructional Videos

There are several common options for creating instructional videos with the tools provided to all Brock University instructors and available across the internet.

Narrate a PowerPoint presentation

All members of the Brock community have access to the latest version of PowerPoint and instructions are available on the ITS Microsoft 365 page.

  1. Create your slides with PowerPoint.

  2. With your microphone and optional webcam ready, find and click Record Slide Show to begin recording:

    1. Recording instructions for PC users.

    2. Recording instructions for Mac users.

  3. Save or Export a PowerPoint video (.mp4 is the preferred video format):

    1. Exporting instructions for PC users.

    2. Saving instructions for Mac users.

Record an MS Teams meeting

Record using YuJa’s Screen recorder

  • You can record anything on your screen, not just lecture slides. This is particularly useful for disciplinary tools or software, or when you need to narrate resources found on the web.
