Page Comparison

Communicating with students is a key feature of a Learning Management System like Brightspace. Announcements allows for the delivery of messages to the entire class, to groups, or to specific sections within the class. Messages can be set to show immediately, or to show during specific dates. Students will see messages posted in Announcements on the default Course Homepage in addition to automatically being sent an email to their Brock account through the Brightspace system.

Where can I find Announcements?

There are different ways to access the Announcement tool. Itcan be accessed through the widget on the default Course Home page; via Course Tools on the navbar; or by going through Course Admin. Site administrators and instructors can use this tool to deliver news to site users, including but not exclusive to: important events, assessment open and due dates, course material additions, course changes or any other important information to keep students informed.

Announcements items appear in the Announcements widget, but you can also receive instant notifications about postings through email, SMS, and RSS feeds.

Selecting Announcements from the Course Tools option on the navbar brings you to the main Announcement page:

Featured Buttons

New Announcement- use the blue New Announcement button to create new announcements in the Brightspace Site. See article Create an Announcement.

More Actions- Select More actions to access the following options: Reorder, RSS, Notifications, and Restore. Details on these options are available in this article Announcements More Actions: Details.

Show Search Options - expand the list of searchable filters to view announcements that meet specific criteria

Delete - selected announcements are softly deleted from the Brightspace site.
