In Brightspace, Question Pools are a randomized selection of questions from the Question Library. Question pools are an effective way to prevent cheating on quizzes as they ensure each student receives a unique set of questions.

1. Enter the Quiz Editor
This can be done by going to Quizzes on the navbar and selecting New, or by clicking the drop-down arrow next to an existing quiz and selecting Edit.
2. Select Create New → Question Pool
Create New is located in the Questions area of the Quiz Editor.
3. Choose a name for the Question Pool
We recommend naming the pool after the Question Library section you plan on pulling the questions from. This is so instructors know where the questions came from, as Brightspace doesn’t keep track of the sections it pulls questions from.
4. Choose how any questions will be randomly pulled, and how many points they are worth.
The Number of Questions to Select space will originally say [blank] from 0. The 0 is there because questions have not yet been pulled from the Question Library. The Number of Questions to Select must be less than or equal to the amount of questions being pulled from the Question Library.
5. Select Browse Question Library and choose the questions that the Question Pool will pull from.
Choose either a section of questions, or a list of the questions from the library.
6. Click Save
Upon saving, the pool will be created in the Questions area of the quiz. It will detail how many questions are being selected from the amount of questions in the Question Library, as well as the assigned point value for each of the questions.
