There may be circumstances where a student needs to be able to resubmit their assignment. Assuming the assignment is set to allow for only one submission, the instructor will have to go in and make changes to give the student the ability to resubmit. There are a couple ways to accomplish this in Brightspace.

Manage Special Access

Students can be granted special access to an assignment where the instructor can give them an additional chance to submit the proper files, even after the due/end date for the assignment has passed. This is done in the Manage Special Access area.

Step 1 - Begin editing the assignment

Click the drop-down arrow next to the assignment name, and click Edit at the top of the sub-menu.

Step 2 - Click Manage Special Access

Manage Special Access is found within the Availability Dates and Submissions sub-menu on the right-hand side of the assignment editor.

Step 3 - Click Add Users to Special Access

Keep Allow users with special access to submit outside the normal availability dates on this folder selected. This will make sure that all other students are required to submit during the proper start and end date of the assignment, while users with special access can be given a separate time (even if the assignment is past due for everyone else)
